Ski touring Hotel Alte Post
The Hotel Alte Post in Faistenau is the ideal starting point for ski tours and snow shoe hikes. Take advantage of our attractive ski tour offer with hire skis and a guided tour with your host, Andreas Teufl, the chairman of the Club Ski Tour Nature Trail Salzkammergut.
Snow shoe hike – a great experience
For all those who search for pure nature off the beaten track, snow shoe hiking is the ideal alternative. Hiking with snow shoes was for hundreds of years the only method of walking in deep snow.
A snow shoe has a larger foot dimension than a shoe and therefore one does not sink into the snow. A hike over a long distance is therefore not as exhausting. Knowledgeable tips from your host and guide, Andreas Teufl, help you to learn the locomotion in deep snow. And soon you are stamping with two modern light metal snow shoes and two sticks without effort across the snowy fields.
On tour in Nature
The guided tours guarantee unforgettable moments in the peace of the untouched landscape of the Osterhorn mountain group, which excites every hiker. One hikes over deep virgin snow watching out for the footprints of wild animals on the way. Snow shoe hiking needs no experience and is for every man and women, easy to master. Snow shoe hikes through the Osterhorn Mountains take place every Tuesday and Friday. En route a stop is made at the rustic Grögneralm to warm up.
